kasanggayahan Festival (October 14-17) A celebration of the province's Foundation Anniversary. highlighted by street dancer performing the traditional bikolano dance Pantomina, also know as "Sinalampati" which tells of love courtship by imitating the movement of Doves. the Kasanggayahan Festival in Sorsogon is an annual celebration in commemoration of the founding of the provide. Various cultural, historical, religious, and social activities are held over course of the whole month of October to mark the festivities. the Kasanggayahan Festival is one the biggest celebration in the Sorsogon. The people of Sorsogon started celebrating this festival since 1974 when Sorsogon was promoted as a province. This festival focuses on the abundant havesting of crops in Sorsogon.

The very first kasanggayahan Festival was the administration of Gov. Juan G. Frivaldo Which was Sorsogon 80th foundation Anniversary as an province. 1974. The Pantomina is actually the "dance of the doves", it was then know through the bikol region as "Sinalampati"(salampati is bikol for dove) before the coming of the Spanish colonizer.
